Mr. Knight reported that he attended the Orwell Village Council meeting on the Fire Contract for the next year. They are planning an increase of 20% for the year 1982 and an added 10% increase each of the next two years, we shall be notified at a later date it this passes. |

Clerk read correspondence from the Orwell Fire Chief Ed Hopes on the total runs for the Township is as follows: Fire Calls (12) and rescue calls (14), for the year 1981.

The new agreement with the Orwell Fire Department was read by the clerk. This agreement is to be for a period of (3) years, in which they are to furnish fire protection and emergency first aid service at the following cost. 1st year $3,408, 2nd year $3,748.80, 3rd year $4,123.68. The trustees passed a motion made by Mr. Zarick, seconded by Mr. Peterson agreeing to this contract with an added clause as follows: The Township reserves the right to cancel the contract the contract for the 2nd or the 3rd years of this agreement by notifying the village by November 1st of the proceeding year. Clerk to notify the village of Orwell of such added clause for their approval. Roll call as follows: Mr. Knight yes, Mr. Peterson yes, Mr. Zarick yes, carried.

Mr. Peterson decided to hold a public meeting to see if residents are interested in starting a Fire Department. This meeting is to be held on March 29, 1982 at 7:30 PM in the Township Garage Hall.
RESOLUTION No. 1-1982
Trumbull County, Ohio.
Be it Resolved by the Township Trustees of Bloomfield Township, THAT in order to guard against the occurrence of fires and protect the property and lives of the citizens of Bloomfield Township against the damages resulting there from, the Board of Bloomfield Township Trustees, pursuant to section 505.37 of the Ohio Revised Code, do Hereby create the Bloomfield Township Fire District. The Bloomfield Township Fire District shall include all the Territory of Bloomfield Township with identical boundaries thereto. Adopted the 26th Day of July 1982.
